Dive Destinations in the Philippines

Coron Bay

Coron Bay has the best wreck diving in Southeast Asia, all packed into one relatively small area. There is nothing quite like the feeling of standing on a jetty, knowing that you have at least half a dozen huge wartime vessels lying within a short boat ride.

Malapascua 

This tiny, picturesque island is one of the few places in the world where there are regular sightings of thresher sharks. There is also a high chance that you will see manta rays at the same time. Moreover, a great location for macro photography too!

Bohol

Five major areas make up the extent of diving in Bohol. Marvelous underwater marine life can be found in this site. It has caves, steep cliff faces and coral gardens to explore. Expect to see anything from a tiny seahorse to a migrating whale shark in this location. On a lucky day, you might also catch a glimpse of a dolphin or even a whale.

Palawan

In the Northern apex of the Coral Triangle in Palawan is often considered to be the best dive spot in the Philippines. This spot is called Tubbataha Reef. Recently nominated to be one of the “Seven Wonders of the Natural World’, this marine protected area is home to a staggering wealth of biodiversity not commonly seen in many locations.

Mindoro

When it comes to ecotourism, Mindoro is famous for the sandy beaches of Puerto Galera where crowds gather on weekends and holidays. Diving in Mindoro allows you to see vast coral reef areas because it houses the worlds secnd largest reef, Apo Reef of Occidental Mindoro. Moreover, the reefs of Mindoro are healthy and abundant.

Anilao

On the northern shore of the Verde Island Passage is the 13km Calumpang Peninsula, better known under the general name Anilao. Anilao is only a couple of hours drive from Manila. The dive sites range from seamounts and pinnacles to current-washed coral reefs, to shipwrecks, coral gardens, and soft-sediment.
